The purpose of this policy is to ensure that students have access to a reasonable standard of support for their heath needs whilst attending school or school-based activities.
The purpose of this Policy is to permit Students to have access to Complementary Medicine First Aid Kit items whilst attending school or school–based activities.
Cairns Hinterland Steiner School is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Research shows that regular attendance is integral to successful educational outcomes. Accordingly, it is important that students, staff, and parent / carers have a shared understanding of the importance of regular student attendance.
The purpose of this policy is to provide written processes about –
- how the school will respond to harm, or allegations of harm, to students under 18 years; and
- the appropriate conduct of the school’s staff and students to comply with accreditation requirements.
The purpose of this strategy is to eliminate and minimise risk to student safety to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
The Cairns Hinterland Steiner School Communication Strategy is designed to support positive, respectful and meaningful relationships within our community.
Cairns Hinterland Steiner School is committed to ensuring that all complaints are received, managed and resolved with respect, natural justice and in alignment with our core values.
The school encourages the raising of complaints when dissatisfaction occurs in relation to an action, inaction or decision from any part of the school.
Cairns Hinterland Steiner School views the resolution of complaints as an integral part of its operations and accountability processes, which presents an opportunity to review and improve the quality of its services.
The purpose of this policy is to protect students with a disability or students who have an associate with a disability from unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation based on that disability.
This policy establishes guidelines regarding the collection, management, and disclosure of family arrangement information about a student at Cairns Hinterland Steiner School. It aims to ensure the school's actions and decisions in common family arrangement scenarios fulfil contractual obligations, adhere to legislative requirements, and promote a safe and supportive educational environment.
This Parent Code of Conduct has been prepared to support families to acknowledge that relationships require mutual respect, kindness and courtesy and to provide clarity of the School’s expectations of families while on the school grounds, participating in school activities and communicating with members of our community (including students, staff and other parents).
The Cairns Hinterland Steiner School is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Commonwealth Privacy Act. This statement outlines the privacy policy of the school and describes how the school uses and manages personal information provided to or collected by it.
The purpose of the Policy is to develop practices at the Cairns Hinterland Steiner School that encourage responsible, respectful and positive behaviours for students, parents/guardians and staff in the context of a school shaped by Steiner education’s anthroposophical approach.
The Procedures outline the behavioural expectations and responses if those expectations have not been met.
The purpose of this policy is to protect students from bullying and to respond appropriately when bullying does occur.
The purpose of this Policy is to provide the students of Cairns Hinterland Steiner School (CHSS) with guidelines regarding the appropriate use of personal mobile devices whilst in the school’s care.
A no phones stance has been adopted as mobile devices are not part of teaching and learning at CHSS and because ongoing contemporary research has established electronic devices are a distraction, may hinder personal development by restricting social interaction and in some cases be the vehicle for anti-social interactions between students.
This policy exists to encourage the reporting of corrupt, illegal or other undesirable conduct at Cairns Hinterland Steiner School. It outlines how individuals can appropriately make disclosures about these matters, and how Cairns Hinterland Steiner School will protect those individuals from detrimental consequences.
